Locking the Program Buttons
To avoid accidentally pressing a program button:
1. Tap Start > Settings > Buttons > Lock tab.
2. Tap Disable all buttons except power button; then tap OK.
Note: The Power button cannot be locked. Pressing the button
and turning on the unit unlocks the other program buttons.
Using HP Profiles
You can change your HP iPAQ settings quickly depending on
where you are at a given moment.
Use HP Profiles to:
■ Turn the HP iPAQ backlight on or off.
■ Turn the HP iPAQ screen display on or off.
Press Today Home page from which all
features are accessed.
Press &

Rotate Screen
(Portrait/Lands

Toggle screen orientation
from vertical (portrait) to
horizontal (landscape).
Press Power on/off Turns HP iPAQ on or off.
Press &
hold
HP Profiles Save characteristics
(volume level, alarm and
backlight brightness) in
memory. Invoke a profile
according to your
surroundings. (Note: The
device must be on.)
