System board
NOTE: All system board spare part kits include replacement thermal material.
All system boards use the following part numbers:
xxxxxx-001: Non-Windows operating systems
xxxxxx-601: Windows 10 operating system

Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 29).
2. Place the computer in Battery Safe mode (Battery Safe mode on page 29).
3. Remove the following components:
a. Bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 30).
b. Battery (Battery on page 31)
c. Fan (Fan on page 37)
When replacing the system board, be sure to remove the following components (as applicable) from the
defective system board and install on the replacement system board:
● Memory modules (Memory modules on page 32)
● WLAN/Bluetooth module (WLAN/Bluetooth combo card on page 33)
● M.2 solid-state drive (M.2 solid-state drive on page 35)
● Heat sink (Heat sink on page 38)
Remove the system board:
1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
(1) Power connector cable
(2) Speaker cable
(3) Antennas from WLAN module (select models only)
(4) Display cable (ZIF)
(5) USB cable from USB board (ZIF)
(6) Keyboard cable (ZIF)
(7) Card reader cable (ZIF) and tape
(8) Touchpad cable (ZIF)
(9) Keyboard backlight cable (ZIF)
