Fan sink
Description

WARNING! To reduce risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system components to
cool before touching.
NOTE: System board appearance may vary.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 23).
2. Remove the access panel (
Access panel on page 24).
3. Loosen the four captive Torx T15 screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board, and then
disconnect the fan cable from the system board connector labeled CPUFAN (2).
CAUTION: Remove fan sink retaining screws in diagonally opposite pairs (as in an X) to even the
downward forces on the processor.
4. Lift the fan sink from atop the processor.
CAUTION: Fan sink retaining screws should be tightened in diagonally opposite pairs (as in an X) to evenly
seat the heat sink on the processor.
