Options
To set options, click the Options tab of the GUI tools.
Snapshot data pool property list
• Pool list box — Displays a list of data pool/Fast Snap pool on the disk array system and
specify the data pool number/Fast Snap pool number to be used when creating the Snapshot
pairs.
Selects the data pool/Fast Snap pool to be displayed in the pool display list box.
(When you select the data pool in the Snapshot data pool list with a mouse, the selected
data pool is highlighted to select.)
Also, prioritize the setting specified in “Data pool/Fast Snap pool number” of the configuration
file.
* In the case that the pool number duplicated in both physical DKCs exists in the virtual DKC
which straddles multiple physical DKCs, a pool where the number of the duplicated pool
numbers and the number of physical DKCs are identical is only displayed.
(Example: If the number of physical DKCs = 2, pool number is 1, 2 for the storage 1 and
pool number =1, 3 for the storage 2, only 1 is displayed for the pool.)
• Data Pool — Data pool/Fast Snap pool number
• Pool Type — Pool Type
• Total Capacity — Data pool/Fast Snap total capacity
• Available Capacity — Data pool/Fast Snap pool free space

VSS Provider behavior
• Use Snapshot as default option for VSS checkbox
In case that the checkbox is selected, VSS Provider executes a backup using the
Snapshot function.

◦ In case that the checkbox is not selected, VSS Provider executes a backup using the
Business Copy function.
◦ Note that the checkbox is not selected by default.
◦ Also, prioritize the settings specified in “Default backup mode” of the configuration file.
• Quick mode for VSS backup checkbox
In case that the checkbox is selected, VSS Provider executes a backup using the
Business Copy function in the Quick mode.

◦ In case that the checkbox is not selected, VSS Provider executes a backup using the
Business Copy function in the Normal (Quick mode disable).
◦ Note that the checkbox is selected by default.
Register Server
When using the VMware Guest to Guest Backup (FC) function, register vCenter Server which
controls ESXi.
