Global
Filename
Characters
BE
CAREFUL WITH GLOBAL FILENAME
CHARACTERS.
We
recommend
that
you
DO NOT USE global filename
characters in the file specification
of
the ERASE
command until
you
are familiar with exactly what they
will do.
For
example, typing
erase
*.*
removes all the files from the diskettes (except the DOS
system files,
if
present).
If
the files
that
are removed by using global characters
are
not
the ones
that
you
expected,
you
can recover this
information only
if
you have previously made a back-up
diskette.
