v No – Go to step 7.
7. Remove the anti-static protection.
8. Gather support data about your updated storage subsystem by using one of
these methods:
v Use the storage management software to collect and save a support bundle
of your storage subsystem. From the Subsystem Management Window
toolbar, select Monitor >> Health >> Collect Support Data. Then name and
specify a location on your system where you want to store the support
bundle.
v Use the CLI to run the save storageSubsystem supportData command to
gather comprehensive support data about the storage subsystem. For more
information about this command, refer to the Command Line Interface and
Script Commands guide. Running this command can temporarily impact
performance on your storage subsystem.
Replacing an SFP transceiver in the DS3500 storage
subsystem controller enclosure configuration
Before you replace an SPF (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver in the
controller-drive enclosure, gather anti-static protection and a replacement SFP
transceiver.
Note: The SFP transceivers for 8-Gb/s Fibre Channel controller-drive enclosures
are different than the ones used for 2 Gbps and 4 Gbps Fibre Channel
controller-drive enclosures and controller enclosures. The SFP transceivers look
similar but behave differently.
Attention: Possible hardware damage – To prevent electrostatic discharge damage
to the enclosure, use appropriate anti-static protection while handling enclosure
components.

2. Did the Recovery Guru direct you to replace a failed SFP transceiver?
v Yes – Go to step 3.
v No – Run the Recovery Guru to identify the failed component, and then go
to step 3.
3. Put on anti-static protection.
4. Unpack the new SFP transceiver.
a. Ensure that it is the same type of SFP transceiver that you are replacing.
b. Set the new SFP transceiver on a flat, static-free surface near the
controller-drive enclosure or the drive enclosure.
