Before attempting equalization of any speaker, it is necessary to have the level preset so the unequalized response plot fits
as well as possible over the target curve. This is necessary for two reasons.
1. The Industry-standard reference level is 85dBC when the source (DVD or LaserDisk) is at 0dB. Setting this test to fit the
target will bring you very close to calibrated level.
2. The DACS4 equalizer has a gain range of +6 to –12dB. If any response peaks/dips are beyond that range, it will not be
possible to correct.
