Cooling System
Checking the Coolant Level
Visually check the coolant level daily.
Note: Do not depend on the coolant level indicator to
illuminate before adding coolant.
Check the quality of the antifreeze mixture every year -
before the cold weather starts. Change it every two years.
!MWARNING
The cooling system is pressurised when the coolant is
hot. When you remove the cap, hot coolant can spray
out and burn you. Make sure that the engine is cool
before you work on the cooling system.

Important: Water in the expansion bottle A and not in the
radiator indicates expansion bottle tube leaking or a non-
sealing radiator pressure cap.
1 Get access to the engine. Refer to Access Panels,
Engine Cover.
2 Carefully loosen the cap B. Let any pressure escape
before removing the cap.
3 Observe the coolant fluid level at the radiator filler
neck. If the coolant level is below the neck of the
expansion tube C continue to steps 4, else continue
to step 5.
4 Add pre-mixed water/antifreeze, via the radiator filler
neck, until the coolant level reaches the neck of the
expansion tube C.
5 Replace the radiator cap.
6 Run the engine for a while to raise the coolant to
working temperature and pressure. Stop the engine
and checks for leaks.
