13.1Removing the battery x
Warning
Risk of injury Battery acid and battery gases cause serious chemical burns.
– Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
– Wear suitable protective clothing and goggles.
– Avoid contact with battery acid and battery gases.
– Keep the battery away from sparks or open flames. Charge only in well-ventilated areas.
– In the event of skin contact, rinse with large amounts of water. If battery acid gets in the eyes, rinse with water for at least
15 minutes and contact a physician.
Preliminary work
– Switch off all power consumers and switch off the engine.
– Remove the seat. ( p. 41)

– Set the service hour counter aside.

Main work
– Disconnect the negative (minus) cable 1 of the battery.
– Pull back the positive terminal cover 2 and disconnect the positive (plus) cable of
the battery.
– Detach rubber band 3 from the bottom.
– Lift the battery out.
13.2Installing the battery x

– Insert the battery into the battery compartment with the terminals facing to the
front.

– Reconnect rubber band 1.
– Connect positive cable 2 and negative cable 3.
Guideline
Screw, battery terminal M5 2.5 Nm

Contact disks A must be mounted between battery terminals 4 and cable
sockets 5 with the claws facing up.
– Slide positive terminal cover 6 over the positive terminal.
Subsequent work

– Place the service hour counter behind the rubber band.
