11.6 Installing the fork legs x
Warning
Danger of accidents Modifications to the suspension settings can seriously alter the vehicle's ride behavior.
– Following modifications, ride slowly at first to get the feel of the new ride behavior.

Main work
– Position the fork legs.
Info
The second milled groove (from the top) must be flush with the top edge of
the upper triple clamp.
Position bleeder screws 1 toward the front.

– Tighten screws 2.

Screw, top triple clamp M8 20 Nm
(14.8 lbf ft)
– Tighten screws 3.
Guideline
Screw, bottom triple clamp M8 15 Nm
(11.1 lbf ft)

– Position brake caliper, and mount and tighten screws 4.

Screw of brake caliper M8 25 Nm

– Position the brake line. Mount the clamp and screws 5.

– Position the brake caliper with spacers and fit and tighten screws 4.

Finishing work

Install the front wheel. x ( p. 62)
– Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 32)
11.7 Removing the fork protector x

– Remove screws 1. Take off the clamp.
– Remove screws 2 on the left fork leg. Take off the fork protector.
