inlet
and exhaust valves (7), (6) and
their
guides
(6)
are different from
each
other. Other parts,
such
as
valve springs
(4),
valve spring retainers (3),
valve spring collets (2), valve stem
seals
(5),
and valve
caps
(1)
are the
same
for both the inlet and exhaust
valves.
All contact or sliding parts are quenched and
tempered
to
resist wear.

The
valve opening and closing
timing
is
extremely
important
for
effectively
intaking
air
into
the
cylinder and sufficiently exhaust
gas.
An appropriate
timing
can
be
obtained
by
aligning
the
alignment
marks on the crank gear and
cam
gear.
