Removing the Rotary Broom (Figures 6-7-9)
WARNING: To avoid serious
personal injuries: Before getting off the
tractor: Park the tractor on level ground,
place the transmission in neutral, set the
parking brake, disengage the driving
system, place all levers including auxiliary
control levers in neutral, shut off the
engine and remove the ignition key.
1. Raise the broom using the subframe lift
mechanism and turn off the engine
2. Figure 7: Remove the 1/4" wire lock pin
(item 1), lower the parking stand (item 2)
and reinsert the wire lock pin (item 1) in the
parking stand (item 2). Repeat the same
procedure for the other parking stand.
3. Figure 9: Remove the hairpin (item 5) to
detach the retaining plate (item 3) from the
subframe pin (item 4).
4. Figure 6: Place a wooden block about 3"
thick (item 9, not included) under the nose
of the female hitch (item 5) and lower the
broom to the ground with the tractor's
hydraulic valve lever.
5. Figure 6: Disconnect the driveline (item 1)
from the tractor PTO (not illustrated). And
place it on the driveline support (item 8).
6. Figure 6: Remove the linchpin (item 6)
from the male quick hitch latch (item 7) and
more the engagement lever (item 3) to the
"A" position.
7. Start the tractor and back away slowly to
release the broom.
