WHAT TYPE OF GASOLINE TO USE
MasterCraft boats are equipped with ILMOR Marine Engines, the
finest quality power plant in the industry. ILMOR supplies an Own-
er’s Manual with the purchase of the boat. Additional, very critical
information regarding the proper use of gasoline in relation to the
ILMOR Marine Engine is contained in the engine owner’s manual,
including but not limited to:
What type of gasoline to use
Avoiding oxygenated fuels or fuels with alcohol
What to do when the boat is not used for a while
Fueling outside the United States and Canada.
Damage to the engine by use of low-quality gasoline or gasoline
with an octane rating below the minimum level listed for ILMOR
MV8 engines will void the warranty on the engine.
Extended storage with fuel in the system can affect fuel stability
and may require system inspection and fuel filter replacement
when the boat returns to service.
Troubleshooting the Fuel System
Fuel Pump Does Not Run When The Engine Start-Stop
Button Is Pressed
Cause 1
Pump may not be receiving sufficient voltage to the pump, or there
may be corrosion interfering with the electrical impulse.
Remedy 1
Take the boat to an authorized MasterCraft dealer. Only the dealer
has the specialized, required tools to correct the problem.
Cause 2
The fuel pump relay may be flipped at the engine fuse block.
Remedy 2
Reset the relay.
Potential Cause 3
Both of the two in-line fuses between the fuel pump and the engine
may have blown.
Potential Remedy 3
Fuses will need to be replaced.
