General notes on the trailer hitch
Not all models can be used to tow a trailer
(→ page 216).
Modifications to the engine cooling system may
be necessary, depending on the vehicle model.
The retrofitting of a trailer hitch is only permissi‐
ble if a towing capacity is specified in your vehi‐
cle documents.
Further information on the trailer hitch can be
obtained at a qualified specialist workshop.

The tongue weight is not included in the towing
capacity.
