Testing the starter relay
To test the starter relay:
1. Unplug the starter harness.
2. Unbolt the relay from the engine.
3. Disconnect the two 12 AWG wires from the bottom
of the relay.
4. Disconnect the relay’s ground lead from the middle
tab of the blade brake switch. See Figure 6.14.
5. Connect a Digital MultiMeter (DMM), that is set to
the Ohms () scale, to the two terminals on the bot-
tom of the relay. See Figure 6.16.
NOTE: The DMM should read no continuity or open
line.
6. Connect the ground lead to the ground side of a
12V power source. See Figure 6.17.
