6.3.3 The power saving mode in the BIOS prevents image acquisition
Problem: In your PC's BIOS, a power saving mode is switched on which prevents
the transmission of the image data from the camera.
Switch off the power
saving mode.
Solution: If possible, switch off all power saving modes in the BIOS of your PC.
Contact your administrator if you can't change these settings yourself.
However, it may be that the BIOS of your PC does not allow the deactivation of the
power saving mode. In this case, please contact Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions
Customer Service.
OSIS Power Profile
Configurator
The OSIS Power Profile Configurator service is installed together with the software.
This service is started automatically when the PC is switched on.
When you start the Olympus or Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions’ software, this
service controls your PC's power saving modes.
This measure avoids the risk that a set power saving mode prevents the transmis-
sion of the image data from the camera.
When you close the Olympus or Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions’ software, control
of your PC's power saving mode is returned to the operating system.
6.4 Stripes appear in the image
Problem description: You have started the software and can activate the camera.
However, stripes appear in the image. Possible problems:
Your FireWire board's slot is overloaded.
The graphic card's driver is outdated.
Solution: Check the description of possible problems listed below.
6.4.1 Your FireWire board's slot is overloaded
Problem: The slot in which the FireWire board has been inserted is overloaded
because neighboring PCI boards or PCI Express boards are also active.
Solution: Switch the FireWire board to another slot. If possible, choose a slot where
the neighboring slots are free.
Changes in the BIOS only by authorized and qualified personnel
Changes in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) can have a negative effect on
the way your PC operates.
Make sure that only qualified personnel make changes to the settings in the BIOS.
