Coolant
Heater
(Optional)
A
coolant heater is
used
to keep engine coolant
warm
when the engine
is
shut
down.
It
heats
and
circulates
the
coolant
within
the engine.
This
reduces
start-up
time
and
lessens
engine wear
caused
by cold
starts.
It is
electrically
operated and thermostatically controlled.
ACAUTION
The heater must not be operated
while the cooling system is empty
or
when the engine is running
or,
damage
to the heater-will
occur.
Figure 9 shows the the heater line connections. Con-
nect the. heater to a source of power that will be on
during the time the engine is not running. Be sure the
voltage rating is correct for the heater element rating. -
