Recording data from a connected external device to an MD
You can record data from an external device (that you have connected following
the explanation on page 9) to an MD. Recording will be either analog or digital,
depending on the connected device.
1 Insert an MD.
Be sure to insert a recordable MD with
the write-protection turned off.
2 Press OTHER INPUTS repeatedly
to select the desired external
sound source.
3 Press REC to set the recorder
in recording standby mode.
4 Start playing the external device.
Adjusting the recording input level on
the FR-V77 will change the monitoring
volume level.
5 Press MD to start recording.
6 When recording is complete,
press MD
.

About digital recording
The FR-V77 is equipped with a sampling frequency
converter, which enables you to record digital signals
(32 kHz and 48 kHz) transmitted from external digital
devices (DAT, satellite broadcast, etc.), as well as CDs
(44.1 kHz).

• If you have changed the title of the
device, the new title appears. (See page
49.)
• If you select “DIGITAL” while a digital
source is not connected or the connected
external device is not turned on, the
“DIGITAL” indicator flashes.

Turning Level Sync on or off

Numbering the desired song(s)
Press REC during recording of the desired
song. If you do not hold down
REC long
enough (about four seconds or less), the
song may not be numbered.
To pause recording
Press MD . Press the button again to
resume recording.
Stopping the MD
When an MD is recorded up to the end,
the MD automatically stops. To cancel
recording half way, press MD .
