Signal Synchro Recording
Signal Synchro Recording starts recording onto an
MD when a signal is received from a source
connected to the input jacks.
1 Execute Steps 1 to 3 on the previous
page.
The MD is set to recording pause.
2 Press REC.
“Signal Rec” appears in the display, then the MD
switches to Signal Synchro Recording pause.
3 Start playing the selected source.
When a sound signal is received from the source,
the MD will automatically start recording.
(You do not need to press MD to start
recording in Step 5 on the previous page.)
4 Execute Step 6 on the previous page.
About Signal Wait
If the incoming signal stops for four seconds or longer
during recording (or eight seconds or longer when REC
mode is set to LP4), the MD recorder automatically
enters record stand-by mode. “Signal Wait” flashes in
the display and the track numbers are updated.
If the signal starts coming in within about 25 seconds,
the MD starts recording. (If more than 26 seconds
have elapsed without an incoming signal, the MD will
switch back to normal recording pause.)
During CD dubbing or double-speed CD dubbing,
howerver, the MD recorder waits for the next
incoming signal.
Notes
This function always operates when the Level Sync
function is On. If you set the Level Sync function to Off
(see page 31), Signal Wait will not operate.
The Level Sync function is turned on after Signal Synchro
recording.
For track numbers to be marked automatically, a signature
code included in the digital signal at the beginning and
end of each track is required. Some equipment and
broadcasts do not include this signal, and in such a cases
track numbers are not marked automatically.
