5. Disassemble and add shims between plate washer
and the rear brake pad as needed to close the gap to
0.193”-0.203” (4.902 - 5.156 mm).
6. Install rear pad, spacers (if removed), springs, front
pad, and then loosely install the nuts.
7. Slide mounting bolt sleeves through the pads to
maintain alignment of parts.
8. Torque the assembly nuts to specification.
TORQUE
Parking Brake Caliper - Assembly Bolts:
35 ft-lb (47 Nm)
9. Ensure the assembly functions properly by actuating
the lever before reinstallation. It should move freely
and return to the upright position when released.
PARKING BRAKE CALIPER INSTALLATION
1. Install parking brake assembly on the mounting
bracket. Tighten two mounting bolts evenly to
specification.
2. Torque two bracket mounting bolts (if bracket was
removed) to specification.
TORQUE
Caliper-to-Bracket Bolts:
19 ft-lb (26 Nm)
Caliper Bracket-to-Transaxle Case Bolts:
19 ft-lb (26 Nm)
3. Install the cable to lever arm with pin (pin is installed
from front to rear).
4. Install retainer clip in pin.
