FRONT HUB / BEARING
HUB REMOVAL / INSPECTION
1. Elevate and safely support front end of machine
under footrest / frame area.
WARNING
Serious injury may result if machine tips or falls. Be
sure machine is secure before beginning this service
procedure. Wear eye protection when removing
bearings and seals.
2. Remove wheel nuts and washers (or lug nuts) and
wheel.
NOTE
Steps 3 and 4 are only required for hub bearing service.
Proceed to Step 5 for hub/disc removal if bearing
service is not required.
3. Remove cotter pin and ball joint nut

, and remove
A-arm from ball joint stud.
4. Use a tie rod fork to remove A-arm from ball joint
stud.
5. Remove two bolts

that attach the brake caliper to
the strut housing and slide caliper off disc.
CAUTION
Do not hang caliper by the brake line. Use wire or a
strap to support weight of caliper to prevent possible
brake line damage.
6. Remove cotter pin

, front spindle castle nut, and
washer.
7. Pull hub straight outward to remove.
