5. Install intermediate shaft and motor shaft. Use care
not to roll the lip of the shaft oil seal when installing
the shaft.
6. Be sure all shafts are fully seated in the case.
7. Apply sealant to case surface and install cover.
8. Torque cover screws to specification.
TORQUE
Cover Screws:
20 ft-lb (27 Nm)
9. Install speed sensor with a new O-ring. Torque
speed sensor retaining screw to specification.
TORQUE
Speed Sensor Retaining Screw:
62 in-lb (7 Nm)
TRANSAXLE INSTALLATION
1. If transaxle lubricant was drained, fill with specified
amount of Premium Angle Drive Lubricant prior to
installation (See Lubrication, page 6.2).
2. Apply anti-seize compound to splines of front output
shaft.
3. With the help of an assistant, position transaxle into
frame from rear of vehicle. Align output shaft and
propshaft splines while positioning transaxle into
mounting bracket on frame. Be sure brake line (A) is
clear of transaxle and mounting bracket.
4. Install lower transaxle mounting bolts from right to
left. Install nuts but do not fully tighten at this time.
