The inhibit-input is a feature to disable the battery mode on purpose. This can be the case when buffering should actively be stopped in
order to save battery capacity and to have shorter recharging time.
The inhibit-input can also be used in case of a service event, where the application must be turned off.
Buffering can be inhibited or stopped:
- When a static voltage is applied to the inhibit-input terminals, there will be no buffering after the
input voltage is switched off.
- When, during the battery mode, a short voltage pulse with a minimum length of 250ms is applied to
the inhibit-input terminals, the output will switch off and stay off until the input voltage recovers.
Batteries will still be charged when the inhibit mode is activated or a voltage is applied to the inhibit-
input terminals.
