• The operand specified by the second address (B
2
/D

)
is offset 4 bits to
the left (a I-digit left shift) and is placed to the left of, and adjacent to,
the low-order four bits of the operand specified by the first address (B1/D
1
).
If the first operand is not large enough to receive all bytes of the second
operand,
the remaining bytes are ignored. If the second operand is shorter
than the first operand, the second operand is extended with high-order
zeros. The first and second operands may overlap.
