Paper Storage
Paper should always be stored properly. Improperly stored paper might
result in poor image reproduction, creased copies, and paper misfeeds.
Generally, avoid curling and absorption of moisture.

Avoid storing paper in humid areas. Under high temperature and high humidity, or
low temperature and low humidity conditions, store paper in a vinyl bag.

Do not store paper where it will be exposed to heat.
S
Store on a flat surface.
S
Use older stock first.
S
Do not lay heavy objects on paper.
S
Keep open reams of paper in the package, and store as you would unopened
paper.
Toner Storage

Store horizontally in a cool, dark place.
S
Store toner bottles vertically.
S
Never store toner where it will be exposed to heat.
S
Do not lay heavy objects on toner bottles.
Drum Unit Replacement
If the deterioration of copy quality occurs, one of the cause is the drum unit’s fatigue. In this case,
replace the drum unit according to the following procedure. For more information, contact your service
representative.
1. Turn off the main switch and unplug the copier.
2. Open the front cover.
3. Swing out the toner bottle holder and remove the knob screw with hand.
4. Slide out the toner bottle holder assembly while pulling down the lock lever.
5. Turn the lever "A1" counterclockwise to lower the transfer belt unit.
6. Remove the knob screw in front of the development unit with hand and disconnect the white
connector.
7. Press down the development unit lock lever and pull out the development unit. Then place it on a
clean sheet of paper.
8. Remove the knob screw in front of the drum unit with hand and pull out the drum unit.
9. Install the new drum unit and tighten the knob screw.
10. Reinstall the development unit and connect the white connector and tighten the knob screw.
11. Turn the lever "A1" clockwise to set the transfer belt unit to the correct position.
12. Slide in the toner bottle holder assembly to the lock position while pulling down the lock lever and
tighten the knob screw.
13. Swing in the toner bottle holder to its original position and close the front cover.
