SETTING THE MUSIC
STVLE TEMPO
When the Music Stvle is stopped
(not plaving), the first TEMPO
indicator (red) (46) flashes at the
current tempo setting.
a) To change the plavback tempo,
press either TEMPO/DATA button (47).
Every time you press a TEMPO
button, the new tempo value is
briefly displayed (in beats per
minute).
To reselect the Music Style’s
standard (preset) tempo, press both
TEMPO/DATA buttons (47)
simultaneously.
The playback tempo can also be set
using the Tap Tempo function:
b) While the Music is stopped, tap
the desired tempo on the TAP
TEMPO button (42, Fill In To
Original). If one measure of the
Music Style contains four beats,
then press the button at least four
times. If the selected Style contains
two beats, tap the button at least twice.
The new tempo (in beats per
minute) will be displayed for a few
seconds. You can then start the
Music Style again using one of the
three methods previously described
(see “Starting Style Playback”).
Note that the Tap Tempo function
cannot be used while the Style is
playing.
ARRANGER CONTROL
The Arranger is that part of the E-38
that actually plays the Music Style
| data. This section describes how to
control the Arranger’s functions.
If the Arranger mode is selected
(SPLIT ARRANGER indicator lights),
each note or chord you play in the
Arranger section of the keyboard
will be used to control the
performance of the selected Music
Style. With this setting, the left half
of the keyboard will only produce
sound when the Style is playing.

die erste, rote, TEMPO-LED (46) und
zeigt damit das eingestellte Tempo

a) Das Tempo kann mit den
TEMPO/DATA-Tastern (47) verändert
werden.
Dabei wird der neu angewählte
Tempowert (in Viertelnoten pro
Minute) kurz im Display angezeigt.
Um das Tempo wieder auf die
Voreinstellung des angewählten
Music Styles zu bringen, drücken Sie
beide TEMPO/DATA-Taster (47)
gleichzeitig.
Das Tempo eines Music Styles kann
auch manuell über die “TAP
TEMPO”-Funktion bestimmt werden:
b) Drücken Sie bei gestopptem
Music Style TAP TEMPO (42, Fill In
To Original) z.B. für einen Rhythmus
mit einem 4/4-Takt viermal
hintereinander. Im Falle eines 2/4-
Taktes brauchen Sie diesen Taster nur
zweimal zu drücken.
Das neu eingegebene Tempo wird
kurz im Display angezeigt, und der
Music Style kann mit diesem neuen
Tempo gestartet werden (das geht
bekanntlich auf drei Arten, siehe
“Starten des Music Styles”).
Die TAP-TEMPO-Funktion kann nur
bei gestopptem Music Style
angewandt werden.
BEDIENEN DES ARRANGERS
Der Arranger ist die Funktion Ihres E-
38, die die Music Style-Daten
abspielt. In diesem Kapitel werden
alle vorhandenen Arranger-
Funktionen beschrieben.
Wenn der Arranger aktiviert ist (SPLIT
ARRANGER-LED leuchtet), kann er
mit den in der linken Manualhälfte
gespielten Akkorden gesteuert
werden. Die linke Manualhilfte ist
so lange stummgeschaltet, bis der
Music Style gestartet wird.

Quand le style est stoppé, la
premiére diode rouge TEMPO (46)
clignote et donne le tempo auquel
est réglé le style.
a) Pour changer le tempo, il faut
employer les boutons TEMPO/DATA
(47).
Chaque fois que l'on change le
tempo, l'afficheur donne durant
quelques secondes la nouvelle
valeur de tempo.
Pour revenir au tempo standard,
pressez simultanément les deux
boutons TEMPO/DATA (47).
Le tempo d'un style peut aussi étre
changé avec la fonction de frappe
du tempo (Tap Tempo).
b) Le style étant arrété, frappez le
bouton TAP TEMPO (42 Fill In To
Original) au tempo voulu pour le
style, comme le ferait un chef
d'orchestre avec sa baguette.
La valeur de tempo donnée par
l'afficheur change automatiquement
et le style peut ensuite étre lancé
selon une des trois méthodes
décrites précédemment (voir:
Lancement du style).
La fonction Tap Tempo ne peut étre
activée pendant la reproduction
d'un style.
COMMANDE DE L'ARRANGEUR
Si le mode Arranger est sélectionné,
chaque accord joué en partie
gauche du clavier servira
d'information pour
l'accompagnement du style choisi.
Par conséquent, la partie gauche du
clavier est désactivée tant que le
style n'est pas lancé.
