3.2.2 Installing the sensors
FlowSensor
The Solaris FlowSensor (Fig. 3-35, 16 41 06), which is available as an accessory, is a dual-function device that
simultaneously measures the flow through the solar panel array as well as the feed temperature. The measuring ranges are
0...20 l/min (flow quantity) and 0...120°C (feed temperature). Both values are indicated on the Solaris R3 control unit.
By controlling the speed of the circulation pump, the Solaris R3 automatically adjusts the optimum flow quantity.
1. Fit the sealing ring.
2. Screw the FlowSensor onto the solar feed coupling of the storage tank.
3. Next, fit the sealing ring and mount the push-in fitting to the feed of the FlowSensor.
4. Insert prepared feed pipe into the plug-in fitting of the FlowSensor.
5. Connect sensor with the FlowSensor cable of the control.
FlowGuard
Also available as an accessory is the Solaris FlowGuard (Fig. 3-37), 16 41 02). It is a regulating valve with integrated flow
indicator that is used to adjust the flow through the solar panel array. The display range is 2...16 l/min.
1. Insert seal (see Fig. 3-36).
2. Mount the FlowGuard and screw it tight.
3. Next, fit the sealing ring and mount the push-in fitting to the feed of the FlowGuard.
4. Insert prepared feed pipe into the plug-in fitting of the FlowGuard.
