6.3 Preparing the electrical installation
6.3.1 Supply voltage
For commissioning and operating the LMS1xx, type-dependent the following power supply
voltages as per IEC
60 364441 as well as power drains of the custome-specific power
supply unit are required:
For recommended fuse values, please see Section “Protection of Supply Cables” on
page 50.
Use safety transformer
The output circuit of the power supply must be safely electrically isolated from the input
circuit, this feature is normally provided by a safety transformer in accordance with IEC
742
(VDE 0551).
6.3.2 Wire cross-sections
Wire all connections with copper cables!
Use the following wire cross-sections:

Connection of Wire cross-sections
Power supply voltage At least 0.25 mm², if local power supply (power supply unit) in the
immediate vicinity
At least 1.0 mm² at maximum cable length of 20 m, if connection is
made to an existing DC 24 V power supply
Switching outputs At least 0.25 mm², maximum cable length 50 m with 0.5 mm²
Data interfaces At least 0.25 mm²
