4 MENU SYSTEM
This section details the operation of the menu system for the SRM9022.
The SRM9022 has a menu system that is configurable by the FPP. The FPP has a pool
of menu entries that can be applied as required in the order required. In simple
configurations, no menu can be programmed, if required. See Figure 4 overleaf for
example menu.
Pressing the ‘M’ (F1) key from the top-level channel screen enters the menu system. By
default this key has a soft menu label alongside it titled “MENU”.
The possible menus are:
· Zone (usually the first menu as it is often accessed). l Radio Info.
l Squelch. l Mode.
l Mute Adjust (FM)/Monitor (Digital). l RSSI.
l Phonebook. l Crypto.
l Phonebook Edit. l Stored Calls.
l User Options. l Messages.
l Setup. l Scan Edit.
l Contrast. l Phone Call.
l Alert Volume. l Status.
l Location Report.
l Undefined (No Menu
Entry).
The presence and order of the above menu selections is determined by the FPP
configuration.
The Setup menu is a special case entry. Setup is a subgroup that can have any of the
list of menu selections assigned to it. This means that, if required, the lesser used
selections can be partly hidden away under the Setup subgroup but still remain
accessible.
The order and presence of the Setup subgroup selections is determined by the FPP.
For instance Info, RSSI and Contrast could be placed under Setup.
The User Options menu group is also a menu subgroup. This subgroup usually
contains on/off functions, such as Key Beeps or Backlight.
To assist the user in menu key selection, a soft menu label may appear above the
function keys. The label shows the user the current function for that key which may
change between different menus.
Programming of menus is a configuration task normally performed by the system
manager using the FPP software.
