Precautions
On operation
If the unit is brought directly from a cold
to a warm location, or is placed in a very
damp room, moisture may condense on
the lenses inside the unit. Should this
occur, the unit may not operate properly.
In this case, remove the disc and leave the
unit turned on for about 30 minutes until
the moisture evaporates. If the unit
doesn’t operate properly after hours,
please consult your nearest Sony dealer.
While operating, do not move, shake, or
otherwise allow any shock to the unit. It
may cause a malfunction.
Use this unit in a stable, horizontal
position where it is not subject to
vibration.
On adjusting the volume
Do not turn up the volume while listening to
a portion with very low level inputs or no
audio signals. If you do, the speakers may be
damaged when a peak level portion is
played.
Turn the volume down before you start
playback.
On the rechargeable lithium-ion battery
(not supplied)
Keep the battery away from fire.
Keep the battery dry.
Do not expose the battery to any
mechanical shock.
Do not open nor convert the battery.

Do not leave the SCSI PC card on a rug,
etc. to protect it from static electricity. The
components on the card can be destroyed
by static electricity.
Do not directly touch the connecter.
The SCSI PC card consists of electronic
components that have precise dimensions.
Do not drop or bump the SCSI PC card.
To remove the SCSI PC card, follow the
instructions for the PC card slot on your
PC. If you remove the SCSI PC card by
force, the SCSI PC card or your PC may be
damaged.
Do not disconnect or connect the interface
cable when the SCSI PC card is connected
to your PC.
Do not expose the SCSI PC card to water.

disconnect from the mains, even if the unit
itself has been turned off.
If you are not going to use the unit for a
long time, be sure to disconnect the unit

pack. To disconnect the AC power
adapter, grasp the plug itself; never pull
the cord.
