Sound jumps or data cannot be read.
m Insert the disc with the playback
side facing down correctly.
m Do not insert a disc which the unit
cannot play.
m Clean the disc and the lens of the
unit.
m The disc may have scratches.
Replace with another disc to make
sure this unit does not have any
problem.
m Clean the turn table.
m Moisture has condensed inside the
unit. Remove the disc and leave the
unit turned on for about 30 minutes.
m Clean the turn table with a soft dry
cloth.
There is no sound.
m Set the volume level in “Volume
Control” on Windows 95 or check
the setting on “Selecting” the audio
source or “Mute.”
m While playing an audio disc such as
an audio CD with your PC, the
sound of the disc comes out only
from the PHONES jack and the A/V
OUT jack. In this case, the sound
does not come from the speakers of
the PC.
Sending the data speed is slow.
m Your PC may have a Power
Management function. Check the
CPU speed setting. (Refer to the
instructions of the PC.)
m If the CD-ROM is dirty or scratched,
the data speed may be changed to
about 4 × transmission speed.

When using as a DVD-ROM
drive
The POWER/BUSY indicators are not
lit when you turn on the unit.
m Make sure the AC power adapter
or
battery pack is connected correctly.
This unit cannot be read on your PC
or cannot work normally.
m Make sure the driver of
installed.
m Make sure the SCSI PC card is
connected correctly.
m Make sure the SCSI PC card to the
PC card slot on your PC is
connected securely.
m Check that the PC card slot

not broken or bent.
m Make sure to turn on this unit
before turning on your PC.
m Check that the SCSI ID number is
not the same as the other units’
CS
ID number connected with your PC.
If it is the same, change
number, then turn off and on this
unit and restart your PC.
m Use the supplied SCSI PC card.
Using another SCSI card may not
work properly.
m Check that the battery is
not
consumed.
m Clean the turn table with
cloth.
