PARKING
1. General
A. In order to protect the aircraft when it is parked in the open, the following parking instructions
should be applied. The extent of the measures depends on parking duration and weather
conditions.
2. Parking
A. If the aircraft is parked for a short time, the following procedure should be applied:
(1) Taxi or tow aircraft into parking position (Refer to0 9-20-00).
(2) Head the aircraft into the wind if possible.
(3) If flaps down, retract them.
CAUTION: DO NOT SET PARKING BRAKE DURING COLD WEATHER, WHEN
ACCUMULATED MOISTURE MAY FREEZE BRAKES, OR WHEN BRAKES ARE
HOT.
(4) In the cabin, on the wheel brake lever, push-in the lock pin of the lever to lock it in position.
(5) Verify the whole aircraft electrical system is de-energized and all controls are in their off- or
initial position, respectively.
(6) Set the controls to neutral and install the lock.
(7) Remove the ignition key from aircraft.
(8) Close and lock the canopy.
(9) Chock the main wheels, fore and aft.
(10) If necessary install any rudder lock.
(11) Install the pitot head cover.
NOTE: When parking the aircraft in adverse weather conditions such as gusty or strong
winds, it is recommended that the aircraft is stored indoors or secured outside more
securely (Refer to 10-20-00).
