10. Reinstall the drain plug and
tighten it securely. Pour about
3400 ml (3.6 US qt) of the
specified oil in the filler hole.
(See FUEL AND OIL RECOM-
MENDATION section.)
NOTE: About 3000 ml (3.2 US qt)
of oil wil be required when chang-

CAUTION
Engine damage may occur if
you. use oil that does not meet
SUZUKI's specifications.
Use the oil specified in the
FUEL AND ENGINE OIL REC-

Hold the motorcycle vertically
and recheck the oil level on
the engine oil inspection win-

drain plug and oil fiter for
leaks.
CARBURETOR
The carburetor is factoryset for
the best performance. Do not
attempt to alter its setting. There
are two items of adjustment, how-
ever, under your care: idle speed
and throttle cable play.
Idle Speed Adjustment
To adjust the idle speed properly,
you need a tachometer. If you do
not have one, ask your authorized
Suzuki dealer or a qualified
mechanic to perform this adjust-
ment.
1. Start the engine and warm it
up by running 2000 rlmin for
10 minutes in summer (where
ambient temperature is 30°C
(86°F) or thereabout) or for 20
minutes in winter (where ambi-
ent temperature is down to
5°C (23°F) or thereabout).
2. Turn the throtte stop screw CD
in or out so that the engine
idles at 1000 - 1200 rIm
in.
