10-12 TRANSMISSION AND CRANKSHAFT
Apply transmission oil to the following parts:
gearshift forks, gearshift shafts, gearshift cam.
Install the gearshift forks 3, 4, 5.
NOTE:
Each fork differs in shape.
Install the gearshift cam 6 and gearshift shafts 7, 8.
NOTE:
Turn the gearshift cam to the neutral position and confirm that
the driveshaft and countershaft turn without resistance.
CRANKCASE REASSEMBLY
Fit the dowel pins and new gasket.
Fit the right crankcase half on the left crankcase half.
Install the clamp to the bolt A and tighten the crankcase
bolts.
Crankcase bolt: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:
If it is hard to tighten the bolts, separate the crankcase and con-
firm that the transmission parts are assembled correctly.
Inspect the crankshaft, countershaft and driveshaft for smooth
movement.
Apply grease to the oil seal lip and new O-rings.
Fit the O-rings 1 and spacer 2 to the driveshaft.
99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A”
(or equivalent grease)
