The Enable Registers and the *PSC Command
The *PSC command controls the contents of the Enable Registers at
power on. Sending *PSC 1 set s the Enabl e Re gisters at power on as
follows:
H DESER 255 (equi valent to a DESe 255 comm and)
H ESER 0 (e quivalent to an *ESE 0 command)
H SRER 0 (equivalent to an *SRE 0 comm and)
Sending *PSC 0 le ts the Enable Registers maintain their values in
nonvolatile memory through a power cycle.
NOTE. To enable t he PON (Power On) event to generate a Service
Request (GPIB and USB only), send *PSC 0, use t he DESe and
*ESE commands to enable PON in the DESER and ESER, and use
the *SRE command t o enable bi t 5 in the SRER. Subsequent
power-on cycles will generate a Service Request (GPIB and USB
only).
Queues
The oscilloscope status and event reporting system contains two
queues: the Output Queue and t he E vent Queue.
The Output Queue
The Output Queue stores query responses waiting to be output. The
oscilloscope empties the Output Queue each time it receives a new
command or query message. This means you must read any query
response before you send the next command or query, or you will
lose responses to earl ier queries. Also, an error m ay result.
