General Safety
• Shut off the machine, remove the key (if equipped), and wait for all movement to stop
before you leave the operator’s position. Allow the machine to cool before adjusting,
servicing, cleaning, or storing it.
• Clean grass and debris from the machine to help prevent fires. Clean up oil or fuel spills.
• Allow the machine to cool before storing the machine in any enclosure.
• Do not store the machine or fuel container where there is an open flame, spark, or pilot
light, such as on a water heater or on other appliances.
• Reduce the throttle setting before shutting off the engine and turn off the fuel-shutoff
valve (if equipped) after mowing.
Operating the Machine after Mowing
1. Drive the machine off of the green, push down on the handle to raise the cutting unit,
release the clutch bail, disengage the cutting unit, and shut off the engine.
2. Remove the grass basket and empty the basket of clippings.
