1.Atthecompletionofoperation,thoroughlywashthe
machinewithagardenhose—withoutanozzle—so
thatexcessivewaterpressuredoesnotcause
contaminationanddamagetothesealsandbearings.
2.Makesurethatthecoolingnsandtheareaaround
theengine-coolingairintakearefreeofdebris.
Aftercleaning,inspectthemachineforpossible
hydraulic-uidleaks,damage,orweartohydraulicand
mechanicalcomponents.
Storage
StoringtheMachine
1.Thoroughlycleanthemachine,theattachments,and
theengine.
2.Checkthetirepressure.Inatethetiresto48kPa(7
psi).
3.Checkallfastenersforlooseness;tightenasnecessary.
4.Greaseoroilallgreasettingsandpivotpoints.Wipe
offanyexcesslubricant.
5.Lightlysandandusetouch-uppaintonpaintedareas
thatarescratched,chipped,orrusted.
6.Changetheengineoilandlter;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilFilter(page37).
7.Conditionthefuelsystemasfollows:
A.Addapetroleum-basedstabilizer/conditionerto
fuelinthetank.Followthemixinginstructions
fromthestabilizermanufacturer.Donotusean
alcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Torofuelstabilizerisavailablefromyour
AuthorizedToroDistributor.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedfuelover90days.
Note:Fuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfuelandusedat
alltimes.
B.Runtheenginefor5minutestodistributethe
conditionedfuelthroughthefuelsystem.
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthefuel
tankusingapump-typesiphon.Disposeoffuel
properly;recycleitaccordingtolocalcodes.
D.Starttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
E.Choketheengine.
F.Startandruntheengineuntilitdoesnotstart
again.
8.Thoroughlycleanandservicetheair-cleanerassembly.
RefertoServicingtheAirCleaner(page38).
9.Sealtheaircleanerinletandtheexhaustoutletwith
weatherproofmaskingtape.
10.Checkthedipstickandfuel-tankcaptoensurethat
theyaresecurelyinplace.
11.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthebattery
posts.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminalsandpostswithawire
brushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPartNo.
505-47),orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
