Sewing

Overcasting
This is a sewing method that prevents unraveling at the edge of the fabric.

Change to the zigzag sewing foot or the overcasting foot.
Set the stitch length dial between “1” and “4”.
Note:
Select pattern No.10 when sewing thin fabric.
(For details on changing the presser foot, refer to “Changing the presser
foot” on page 26.)
Caution
Before changing the presser foot, use the main power switch to turn
off the sewing machine.
Not doing so could cause an injury.

Position the fabric so that the
needle extends slightly off the
edge of the fabric when the
needle moves to the right.
Sew with the edge of the fabric
against the guide on the foot.

Caution
Do not use stitch number 10 with the overcasting foot.
Doing so may cause the needle to hit the presser foot and break or cause
injuries.
