8.4 Topping up the regeneration salt
Note
Salt residues can have a negative effect on the wash result. It is best, therefore, to top up the regeneration
salt before starting the self-cleaning programme.
Caution
Damage to the water softener
Chemicals such as detergent or rinse aid or other salts such as table salt will inevitably damage the water
softener.
Ø Fill only with regeneration salt or a pure evaporated salt with a maximum grain size of 0.4–7 mm.

Danger of rust formation in the filling area as a result of salt residues
Ø After filling the regeneration salt, start a washing programme or the self-cleaning programme in order to
wash away any salt residues that may be present.
Ø Only fill with water when commissioning the water softener for the first time.
Ø Top up the regeneration salt.
8.5 Replace the canister
Ø Wear protective clothing, protective gloves and protective goggles.
Ø Pull the suction tube carefully out of the empty canister.
Ø Check whether both vent holes (1) in the caps are open. Clean if required.
Ø Place suction tube in the new canister.
Ø Slide the cap slowly downwards until the canister opening is closed.
The dosing device must be vented if air has entered the dosing hose. This occurs if the canister is not replaced in time.

Ø Press button 1 or 2.
ð The button turns white.
ð The dosing device is vented.
Ø As soon as the button turns dark again, exit the menu.
