Languages & Input
• Languages: Select a language for your system.
• Virtual keyboard: Congure on-screen input method settings.
• Physical keyboard
- Show virtual keyboard: Keep the virtual keyboard on screen while a physical
keyboard accessory is active.
- Keyboard shortcuts helper: Display available shortcuts.
• Spell checker: Enable Google Spell Checker to check for spelling errors when
entering text, and change its settings.
• Autoll service: Enable or disable Autoll with Google. To use the Autoll service,
you need to sign in to your Google account.
• Personal dictionary: Add new words to the phone’s dictionary or remove words
from the dictionary. The words you add are used for spelling check and word
suggestion.
• Pointer speed: Select how fast the pointer/mouse should scroll when you connect
the phone to a trackpad or mouse accessory.
• Text-to-speech output
- Preferred engine: Select the speech synthesis engine you want to use, or change
its settings.
- Language: Select the language for text-to-speech output.
- Speech rate: Select how quickly you want the synthesizer to speak.
- Pitch: Adjust the tone of spoken text.
- RESET: Reset the speed and pitch at which the text is spoken to default.
- PLAY: Play a brief sample of the speech synthesizer using your current settings.
Date & Time
Set date, time, time zone, and time format, or use network-provided data (see
Personalizing – Setting the Date and Time).
Software Update
Check for system updates and install them when they become available.
Backup
To easily restore or switch phones at any time, you can enable automatic backup to
Google Drive of important data, such as apps and app data, call history, messages, device
settings, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. You need to sign in to your Google
account to use this feature.
Reset Options
Reset network settings, app preferences, or the phone to factory default status.
