Using the Auxiliary Port on the Supervisor PIC
The auxiliary port provides a connection for a terminal server to allow remote access to the router and its
command-line interface (CLI).
Before You Begin
Install the Supervisor PIC.
Install the Supervisor Card.
Required Tools and Equipment
RJ-45 cable
RJ-45-to-DB-9 adapter
Terminal server
Step 1
Connect one end of the RJ-45 cable to the auxiliary port on the Supervisor PIC.

Step 2
Connect the other end of the RJ-45 cable to the RJ-45-to-DB-9 adapter.

Step 3
Connect the RJ-45-to-DB-9 adapter to the appropriate serial port on the terminal server.
