Recovering From a Single Hard Drive Failure Using the Intel Matrix
Storage Manager
NOTE: The following steps can be performed only after the failed hard drive has
been replaced (see the appropriate Drives section for your system).

Click the
Start
button and point to
Programs
→
Intel(R) Matrix Storage
Manager
→
Intel Matrix Storage Console
to launch the Intel Storage
Utility.

Click the
Restore RAID 1 data protection
button.

Click the
Rebuild RAID volume now
button.

Click the
Yes
button to start rebuilding the RAID volume to the new hard
drive.
NOTE: You can use your computer while the computer is rebuilding the RAID level
1 volume.
Setting Your Computer to RAID-Enabled Mode

Enter system setup (see "Entering System Setup" on page 79).

Press the up- and down-arrow keys to highlight
Drives
, and press
<Enter>.

Press the up- and down-arrow keys to highlight
SATA Operation
, and press
<Enter>.

Press the left- and right-arrow keys to highlight
RAID On
, press <Enter>,
and then press <Esc>.
NOTE: For more information about RAID options, see "System Setup Options" on
page 80.

Press the left- and right-arrow keys to highlight
Save/Exit
, and press
<Enter> to exit system setup and resume the boot process.
