If you are using a 32-bit operating system such as Microsoft
®
Windows®Vista®, your computer will support a maximum of 4 GB of memory. If you are using a
64-bit operating system, your computer will support a maximum of 8 GB (2-GB DIMMs in each of the four slots) of memory.
Installing Memory
1. Perform the procedure Before Working on Your Computer.
2. Press out the securing clip at each end of the memory module connector.
3. Align the notch on the bottom of the module with the crossbar in the connector.
4. Insert the module into the connector until the module snaps into position.
If you insert the module correctly, the securing clips snap into the cutouts at each end of the module.
5. Perform the procedure After Working on Your Computer.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge and damage to internal components, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically
