Turning Off Your Computer


1. Shut down the operating system.

2. Ensure that the computer and all attached devices are turned off. If your computer and attached devices did not automatically turn off when you shut
down your operating system, press and hold the power button for about 4 seconds to turn them off.
After Working on Your Computer
After you have completed any replacement procedures, ensure you connect any external devices, cards, cables, etc. before turning on your computer.

1. Replace the computer cover.
l Mini tower: Replacing the Mini Tower Computer Cover.
l Desktop: Replacing the Desktop Computer Cover.
l Small form factor: Replacing the Small Form Factor Computer Cover.

2. Connect any telephone or network cables to your computer.


3. If necessary, set the computer upright.

4. Connect your computer and all attached devices to their electrical outlets.


5. Turn on your computer.
