Getting started
7.1.0.1 Device behavior upon startup
The table shows startup behavior of the device following a normal shutdown and
following a power failure.
7.2 Functional check procedure
WARNING
Risk of death or serious injury
A malfunctioning phototherapy system may not provide correct therapy.
► To ensure proper functionality, perform the functional check procedure before
the device is first placed into service, after it has been turned off, and after
cleaning or service procedures.
► Do not use the device if a malfunction was detected during the functional check
procedure.
► Do not use the device if any controls are not functional or if the device does not
pass the functional check procedure successfully.
7.2.1 Electrical and control panel functional check
1 Perform the system startup procedure on page 37.
2 Press the key on the control panel to turn on the observation light, and
confirm that the observation light turns on.
3 Press the key on the control panel to turn off the observation light, and
confirm that the observation light turns off.
4 Press the key on the control panel to turn on the phototherapy light.
5 Press the irradiance key on the control panel several times. Confirm that
the irradiance increases and that the LED indicators on the control panel
illuminate in succession each time the key is pressed.
6 Press the irradiance key on the control panel several times. Confirm that
the irradiance decreases and that the LED indicators on the control panel turn
off in succession each time the key is pressed.
7 Press the key several times and confirm that the available BiliLux screens
are displayed in succession (see Displaying BiliLux screens on page 28).
8 Press the variable function buttons next to the screen, and verify that they
initiate the functions described on the screen (see Configuration on page 55).

Startup after power failure of <10 min – Device continues in prior therapy
