measurement and that the gas flow can be conducted through the capillary with the
discoloring chemical preparation. MicroTubes located in the device do not disrupt
this test.
3.1.6.2 MicroTubes drive
The drive motor for the MicroTubes is actuated. A gentle extension/retraction
movement is executed. This ensures that the MicroTubes can be positioned in the
operating position for a measurement. MicroTubes located in the device do not
disrupt this test.
3.1.6.3 Pneumatics
The internal pump is actuated and the resulting mass flow is checked using the
Mass Air Flow sensor. The pump must reach a defined, minimum mass flow so that
the necessary mass flow can be applied to the respective MicroTubes during a
measurement. MicroTubes located in the device do not disrupt this test.
3.1.6.4 Camera
The camera is actuated and the first 100 photos are recorded. The microcontroller
checks whether these photos are successfully transferred to it. This ensures that
the necessary data can be collected in order to assess the discoloration in the
MicroTubes during a measurement using the Front Tracking algorithm.
3.1.6.5 Flash memory
The internal memory chip is actuated and checked for the presence of the stored
libraries (e.g. substance table, language table, measurement location table). This
ensures that the correct substance names are subsequently displayed, the menus
can be shown in other languages, and that the measurement results can be saved
and assigned to preconfigured measurement locations.
3.1.6.6 Real time clock
The function of the real time clock (RTC) is checked so that measurement results
can be issued a time stamp according to the initially set time.
3.1.6.7 Batteries
A test confirms whether the voltage of the inserted AA batteries can be read out so
that the user receives valid feedback on their status on the display.
3.1.7 Measurement sequence
3.1.7.1 Preparation
Once the X-act 7000 has started up and the self-test has been successfully
completed, it uses the integrated RFID antenna to check whether the RFID/NFC tag
of any MicroTubes is within the reception area. If one is detected, the MicroTubes
drive is activated in order to position the MicroTubes in the operating position. In
this case, the drive continues to run until the mechanical resistance is detected by
the first orange cancellation pin on the MicroTubes that is not depressed. To ensure
correct positioning, the camera also takes a photo and an image recognition
algorithm verifies that a capillary is in the capture area. Once the MicroTubes are in
the operating position, the RFID/NFC tag is completely read out and checked for
