6. UPS Maintenance
6.1 Equipment Maintenance
Please keep the surrounding area clean and free of dust. If the atmosphere is dusty, use a vacuum cleaner to
clean the outside of the device.
To get the most out of battery life, keep the ambient temperature at 25°C (77°F).
If the UPS needs to be moved, please make sure that the UPS is powered off and that all connections are
disconnected. The battery has a rated service life of 3 to 5 years depending on the frequency of battery usage
and the ambient temperature (in an environment of above 25°C, with the service life halved for every increase
of 10°C).
In general, a battery beyond its service life will have a severely reduced discharge time. Please replace the
battery at least once every 4 years to ensure optimal operating efficiency of your devices.
6.2 Device Storage
If you need to store the device for a period of time, please connect the UPS to the power grid at least once
every 6 months to recharge the battery. The internal battery can reach a 90% capacity within 3 hours of
charging.
However, Eaton suggests you charge the battery for 48 hours after storing for a long period of time.
Please check the battery charge date on the carton label. However, Eaton suggests you do not use the UPS
if the date has elapsed and that the battery has never been charged. Please contact your local service
representative.
6.3 Time to Replace Battery
When the LCD displays that battery replacement is needed, it is suggested that you replace the battery.
Please contact your service representative to order new batteries.
Please check the LCD (Measurement > Battery) for the suggested date of battery replacement.
