5.3 Setting an Individual Load Profile
A load profile can be individually set for any test subject. That is, the operator can
pre-set all necessary parameters, such as initial load, load increments and, if desired,
pulse limit for the individual prior to the start of ergometry.
5.3.a Setting the Initial Load
The initial load setting determines the load at which the ergometry will begin. Select
a load that will not lead to over-stressing a patient whose physical condition is not
known.
Press the key „Po (W)“. The currently set value
will appear in the display and the LED in the key
will blink. This value can be altered in 5 Watt
steps by using the „Up / Down “ keys for as long
as the LED continues to blink.
Note: The initial load setting can only be altered when the ergometer is not
actively running a program. This means that, when a prior ergometric
program was run, the „STOP“ key must have been pressed after the
test subject ceased to pedal. Only then does the system leave its
program. The LED in the „STOP“ field must be illuminated.
5.3.b. Setting the Load Increments
Load changes are dependent upon the load algorithm setting (see 5.2.). Accordingly,
load changes are defined in either W/Min (V 3.3) or in W/interval (V 9.3 - see Table
5.2.b).
Press the „P (W/MIN)“ key. he currently set value will
appear in the display and the LED in the key will blink.
This value can be altered in 5 Watt steps by using the
„Up / Down “ keys for as long as the LED continues to
blink.
Note: The load change setting can only be altered when the ergometer is not
actively running a program. When a prior ergometric program was run,
the „STOP“ key must be pressed after the test subject has ceased to
pedal. Only then does the system leave its program. The LED in the
„STOP“ field must be illuminated.
