Battery
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and
lead compounds. Wash your hands after handling.
The battery is disconnected for shipment.
1. Remove the cover (see page 73).
2. Connect the battery positive (+) cable to the battery positive (+) terminal first,
and tighten the bolt securely.
3. Slide the battery boot over the positive (+) cable and terminal.
4. Connect the battery negative (–) cable to the battery negative (–) terminal,
and tighten the bolt securely.
5. Install the battery holder band.
6. Install the battery cover in the reverse order of removal (see page 73).
Never operate the generator without the battery cover in place, as poor
engine and generator performance will result.
