7. Remove the bottom cover (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the bottom cover.

Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 29).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 29).
Remove the battery:
1. Disconnect the battery cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the speaker cable from the retention clips (2) built into the front edge of the battery.
3. Remove the ve Phillips M2.0 × 3.2 screws (2) that secure the battery to the computer.
